Every year Centrol does a fitness program for the employees. Since it’s that time of the year (January 5th) again (and since it’s New Years) I thought I’d share with you 5 health apps that will help you in your healthy journey in 2015!
1. MyFitnessPal –
An app for most smart phones. There is also a website. It is an awesome way to track your fitness journey. You can track your food and water intake. Makes it easy to see how many calories you’ve eaten. But not only that – it also allows you to keep track of your workouts and burned calories. Check it out.
2. mapmyrun –
Is a great app for most smart phones (there is also a website). On this app you can track your runs, walks, bike rides, and more. The GPS tracks your movement on a map. During and after your run. It will track how many calories you’ve burned and how many miles you’ve gone.
3. Fitbit, Jawbone, or another Step Tracker –
Fitbit and Jawbone have smartphone apps and websites where you can log in to check your steps. I really love the Fitbit Flex. You wear it on your arm like a watch or bracelet. Throughout the day it tracks your steps. A person should get 10,000 steps a day to be healthy.
4. Zombies 5K –
Always hated running? But, want to change that? Train for a 5k or something larger? This is an amazing app that helps you train in a fun way. It’s a game where you run away from Zombies. Check out this video about it.
5. Dietbet –
Like making money, while exercising? Yes? Who doesn’t?
Dietbet is a website where you can sign up for a Dietbet Exercise & Weight loss Challenge. You pay a small entry fee that goes into the winning bucket. The challenges come in a variety of lengths. Some shorter and others longer. But by the end of the challenge, you have to have lost the amount of weight to get some of the cash from the winning bucket.
